Member of the Sovereignty Council Malik Agar said on Saturday that the Chadian government has banned the Sudanese certificate exams from being held on its territory. The Sudanese authorities have decided to hold the secondary school certificate exams in the states of the Red Sea, Kassala, Gedaref, Northern, River Nile, West and North Kordofan, in addition to Chad.

Malik Agar said, at the second political forum of the Sudan Justice Alliance at the headquarters of the Red Sea State government, that “the Chadian government has banned 13,000 secondary school students from sitting in Abeche.” He considered this “part of the war,” stressing the presence of Sudanese schools in Chad, where Sudanese certificate students have been taking exams throughout previous years except this year.

Sudan accuses Chad of funneling weapons from the UAE to the Rapid Support Forces, and has filed a complaint against it with the African Union. Sudan has supported these accusations with satellite images supported by investigative press reports and confirmations from international human rights organizations. In another context, Malik Agar admitted that there were stumbling blocks in the currency exchange, before returning and confirming that the process is going well.

Since last Tuesday, banks have begun implementing the process of exchanging the 1,000 and 500 denominations by citizens depositing their money in bank accounts, with withdrawals later taking place with a ceiling not exceeding 200,000 pounds per day.

Malik Agar attributed the intensive visits of Western envoys to Port Sudan to “field developments on the ground and the balance of power.”

He added: “This is a tactical change, not a strategic one, whose purpose is to dismantle Sudan under many names, including the forces of democratic transformation, while there is no such thing as democratic transformation, and it is a heresy that they do not implement in their countries.”

Envoys from Western countries, including the United States, Britain and the European Union, have visited Port Sudan, which has become the centre of the country’s governance.
